How we designed a marketing suite that captured history and embraced the future, that was shortlisted for a Housing Design Award

When it comes to design there are multiple things to take into consideration; the use of the space, the brand, the environment and the creative brief for the development.

Muse Developments needed a marketing suite that would bring together all of these things to perfectly balance and share the story and vision of Valette Square, part of a £1bn regeneration project in Salford.

The suite needed to be functional, with a soft seating area that offered a relaxed and informal meeting space, and a second area that offered residents an area for home working. Collaborating with the client’s architects we designed the main seating area, guest liaison area, a living area and a TV area.

Our Design Team worked closely with Muse Developments, embracing the client branding and setting the tone for the creative direction. Using the branding guidelines as a foundation, we crafted a colour palette to complement the history of the development.

Furniture and accessories were all procured to a high specification, with the focus on both function and comfort. A formal set up in the guest liaison area meant sleek wooden desks and padded chairs, perfect for staff to conduct day to day work. And, for the main seating area, we wanted guests to feel relaxed and comfortable. A plush curved sofa created space and a distinctive sense of style.

Sourcing on-trend pieces, we created a space that would be aspirational for prospective residents, showing everyday living.

At the centre of the whole project was the importance of its local area.

Named and inspired after Pierre Adolphe Valette, a French Impressionist painter, who tutored famous Salford artist L. S. Lowry,  ‘art’ as a theme was an important focus for the vision from the start. To combine the two, we commissioned a bespoke mural by local artist Adam Pekr as the focal point for the marketing suite.

This stunning and unique piece adopted the colour palette of the development, and brought together every element of the design.
