Luxury, people first development
Gilders Yard is a luxury development of one and two bed apartments unfurnished or furnished for renters. It was developed by Grainger, which specialises in providing developments with great residential management, exciting facilities and high quality homes. It aims to build communities with its residents at the heart of them.
This ethos is shared with LOFT. We design innovative People-First interiors which elevate the rental experience and make properties feel special for every resident. It’s one of the reasons we’ve worked so well with Grainger for several projects.
About Gilders Yard
The facilities at Gilders Yard have been chosen for modern-day lifestyles. All to create a sense of community, so residents can feel at home throughout the whole of Gilders Yard, not just in their individual homes.
Gilders Yard facilities include:
• Gym
• Co-working space
• Courtyard garden
• Residents' lounge
Location
Gilders Yard is close to the centre of Birmingham, on the edge of the famous jewellery quarter. It’s a great location with shops and eateries right on its doorstep. Plus, it’s less than a 10-minute drive to the Bullring shopping centre and Birmingham New Street Station, which has excellent transport links across the country.
Interior Design for Gilders Yard
The building that was regenerated for Gilders Yard is steeped in history, with original features including large windows and exposed brickwork.
To incorporate LOFT’s People-First design, we came up with two distinct interior concepts which would celebrate the building’s history while providing modern furniture that gave residents a feeling of being at home.
The first design concept was based on Gilders Yard’s Jewellery Quarter location. This opulent theme featured marble-look table tops, brass finishes and blue velvet upholstery.
Raw Industrial
The concept Grainger ultimately chose was a ‘Raw Industrial’. This concept is inspired by the past industries of Birmingham and their importance in the development of the city.
‘Raw Industrial’ saw LOFT using a mix of raw, natural textures and soft faux leathers to create a New York loft-style aesthetic. This would also appeal to residents in understanding the history of the building, again strengthening their connection to Gilders Yard and making it feel even more like home.
Furnishing the property
In total, LOFT furnished 149 apartments in Gilders Yard. The whole process took only two months to furnish them all.
Grainger has since chosen LOFT to provide interior design for more upcoming developments.
