Our Tree Planting Day With Gone West

We swapped the comfort of our home offices for the wintery Cheshire countryside to plant trees with Gone West, our sustainability partner. In 2020 we unveiled our new partnership with the well-known tree-planting organisation Gone West, having planted over four million trees since starting in 2013, we were excited to be planting one tree for every apartment we furnish. Helping to give back to nature and look after future generations.

On a wet and cold Saturday morning in December members of our team from Manchester meet up with the Gone West Tree Planting Team in the Cheshire countryside. We had a goal of 500 trees to plant and with most of the team never planted a tree before we had a challenge ahead of us. The team were full of lots of energy and were very determined, they dug deep and managed to plant over 600 trees including oak, ash, birch and beech.

Sustainability is at the core of everything we do and the team we thrilled to be making a difference to future generations, creating a beautiful habitat for nature as well as a place for people to come and enjoy.

We recycle all recyclable materials from our installations, including 5,000 mattresses per year. Later this year we hope to take part in more tree planting days, with our London Team in Somerset. But until it is safe to do so and with the country in a current lockdown, we still want to make sure we are doing our bit. That’s why we are getting our team involved in planting their own trees at home. There’s always more to be done to help our planet, but we hope by giving back one tree per apartment furnished we can make a difference. Partnering with Gone West who share our passion and love for sustainability is a dream come true and we look forward to replanting the future with them.
