People First Business
We are an ethical, socially and environmentally conscious business. We strongly believe in the ability of our people, and giving back to the communities around us.
Plant & Protect
To help balance our environmental footprint we plant one tree in the UK for every apartment furnished. In 2020 we partnered with Gone West to help create a more sustainable future for everybody.
We regularly donate furniture to those in need through charities including Mustard Tree and The Embassy, who provide furniture for shelters or for individuals and families who have recently been rehomed. We have already donated over 2,000 pieces of furniture to help create homes and transform lives.
We are committed to the environment and make sure everything that can be recycled will be. We send 89% of our waste to a refuse-derived fuel facility (RDF) and convert it to electricity. Over 5,000 mattresses are recycled every year through a specialist mattress recycling facility where every mattress is taken apart and each component is separated to be recycled.
We build and maintain trusting relationships with suppliers and manufacturers worldwide. We know our supply chain inside out and only work with suppliers who demonstrate they operate within the recognised standards that uphold human rights and safety, prohibit modern slavery and promote sustainable sourcing.
We're In This Together
We partner with a number of charities across the UK, including The Embassy. They use a re-purposed tour bus to provide emergency shelter and support to vulnerable male adults in Greater Manchester. £1 is donated for every bed frame we sell, and our staff regularly get involved with volunteering on the bus to support its residents.
We’re so grateful to LOFT for supporting our new project for women in crisis in London. Their generous donation of essential furniture and soft furnishings has helped us create a welcoming new home for women escaping trauma and abuse, who had previously been homeless. The team’s kindness and passion for this work is a testament to their commitment to supporting women in London.Ellie Pollock, Housing for Women
